Hazards & Environmental Considerations
Did you know that many household items cannot be thrown into the trash? Common items such as cleaning products, electronics, batteries, and many more items are considered hazardous waste and are banned from landfills in California.
If these products are put into the landfills, they will eventually contaminate our groundwater. The illegal disposal of hazardous waste is a dangerous threat to the health of our community.
Collection Center Locations
Orange County has 4 HHW Collection Centers that can be used by all Orange County Residents. The nearest center for La Habra residents is in Anaheim. The hours of operation for all locations are as follows:
- Tuesday through Saturday
- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Except for rainy days and 4 major holidays (New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day)

The collection center is located on the southwest corner of La Palma Avenue and Blue Gum Street, near the 91 and 57 freeway junction.

Irvine HHW Center

The collection center is located off of Sand Canyon Avenue between the 5 and 405 freeways. Please use the same entrance as the Bark Park.
