Youth Sports Affiliate Policy

The City of La Habra welcomes the use of City and community facilities by local youth sports organizations and is interested in developing relationships with these organizations. The City's policies are designed to create fairness in the allocation of facilities and are based on the accurate provision of information by the youth sports leagues. These guidelines ensure that La Habra residents get the maximum benefit of use, while encouraging opportunities to fund raise and a setting for player and team development.

Sports Affiliate Members

To become a sports affiliate group member, organizations must meet minimum requirements that include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct their league business in a professional manner
  • Provide programs which complement existing programs of the Community Services Recreation Department and other affiliates
  • Have an affiliation with a national governing body that has governance over the affiliate
  • Meet player residency requirements (75% must have La Habra mailing addresses)
  • Meet a minimum participant requirement
  • Carry their own insurance, naming the City as additionally insured for $2 million
  • All Star/Travel/Club Team participants must have 90% of their home mailing addresses in La Habra
  • The majority of the group's adult membership shall live or work in La Habra and must be open to all persons.
