You're invited to share the message "YOLO (You Only Live Once), Be Drug Free!" during the City's annual Red Ribbon Week, October 24th-28th. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade are invited to submit a poster illustrating that theme. Posters must be 11x17 inches; visit the Community Center for a blank poster to decorate. Students in grades 6 through 12 are invited to participate in an essay contest; essays must be one-two pages in length, typed and double-spaced. The prompt for the essay is: "You only live once, so how are you planning to live life to the fullest? What are your goals for the future and how will being drug free help you achieve them?" All submissions must be turned in to the La Habra Community Center by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13th. Contest winners will be recognized at the Red Ribbon Breakfast, Thursday, October 27th, 6:30-8:00 a.m. For more information, please contact Jake Lujan at 562-383-4211.
