You're invited to La Habra's 4th Annual Tamale Festival, hosted by the City of La Habra and presented by Northgate Market, which will take place on Sunday, November 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The event, which is the largest tamale festival in Orange County, is held on Euclid St., between La Habra Blvd. and Lambert Rd., with activities also in Brio and Portola Parks, which are located in that area. Activities will include tamale and salsa contests, dance performances, as well as musical performances by Soto, with its top 40, cumbias and salsa tunes, and Mariachi Espectacular; trumpeter Cindy Shea will be appearing with the latter group. There will be many vendors selling a variety of merchandise, and, of course, many tamale vendors. Don't forget to sign up for the Tamale Making Lesson, which will take place at 11:00 a.m. The cost to participate in the lesson is $5 in advance and $7 on the day of the event. Fee includes materials for tamales, masa spreader, coupons, reusable apron and bag.
