[ARCHIVED] Holiday Wishes Toy & Food Drive

holiday gifts1

The Holiday Wishes Program, formerly known as Operation Santa, is already in full swing!  The program benefits individuals, children and families that are experiencing challenging circumstances this holiday season.  Our wish list includes NEW unwrapped toys for children ages 2-12 years, and gift cards for individuals and teens.  Some suggestions for toys are board games, dolls, Hot Wheels cars, arts and craft supplies, sports balls, bike helmets, skateboards and bicycles.  Gift cards for teens and adults include those from Wal-Mart, Target, grocery stores, restaurants, movie theaters, gas stations and bus passes.  Because this year gift wrapping will be part of the program, gift wrap, scotch tape, gift bags and tissue paper are also needed.  We are also seeking nutritious, non-perishable food items, including instant oatmeal, canned fruit and vegetables, salad dressing, rice, pasta, cornbread mix, unsweetened cereal, applesauce, tea, coffee and other items. Donations can be delivered Monday-Friday, November 5th through December 8th, to the La Habra Community Center, 101 W. La Habra Blvd., 7:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.

Financial donations of any amount also are accepted.  Checks should be made payable to City of La Habra; we also take cash and credit cards.  These can be hand delivered or mailed to the Community Center.

Volunteers are also welcome; please contact Andrea Lira at 562-383-4217 for information on volunteer opportunities.
