The La Habra Community Services Department Recreation Division will once again join the national celebration of Red Ribbon Week October 23-31, 2019. This year's message is "Send a Message: Stay Drug Free." Returning are the Youth Red Ribbon contests, which include a Pre-K thru 5th Grade Poster Decorating Contest and a 6th thru 12th Grade Essay Contest. Judging for the poster contest will be based on use of color & space, creativity/originality, and use of theme. All posters must be vertical. Essays will be judged on typed/double spaced format, correct spelling & grammar, creativity/originality, and use of theme. The submission deadline for entries is Thursday, October 17, 2019.
This year's Red Ribbon Breakfast will be held on Thursday, October 24th. The keynote speaker will be La Habra Police Department's Captain Dean Capelletti. The cost to attend the breakfast is $18 per adults and $15 per student, or $120 for a table of eight. Tickets MUST be purchased in advance.
