Community Youth Sports

here are many independent sports organizations in the City of La Habra. While these organizations hold meetings, registration events and games at City facilities, they are NOT City programs. For information about any of these programs or to register for any of these programs, please contact them via the information included below:

AYSO (Soccer)

Founded in 1974, AYSO Region 94 serves the communities of La Habra, Brea & Fullerton. AYSO holds both an open registration league during the fall and a Spring Select League for divisions U-5 through U-19, serving approximately 1,300 children. There are six philosophies under which AYSO operates: everyone plays, balanced teams, open registration, positive coaching, good sportsmanship, and player development. The home field for Region 94 is Imperial Middle School in La Habra.

La Habra Pumas (Soccer)

The La Habra Pumas are a competitive boys' soccer club with teams in the U-9 through U-17 divisions. Their goal is to provide an affordable opportunity for any child that has the desire to play at a competitive level. Pumas play in games and tournaments throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties. La Habra City Little League (Baseball)

The La Habra City Little League District 56 consists of La Habra, as well as parts of La Habra Heights, Brea and Whittier. Founded in 1959, the league hosts spring and fall seasons for ages four through 18, with approximately 800 children playing each season. LHCLL also holds a

District 56 Challenger League (Baseball)

District 56 Challenger League is designed specifically for children with special needs. The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to any age, to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. Today more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide. One of the benefits of having a Challenger Division is that it encourages the use of "buddies" for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. However, the buddy is always nearby to help when needed Challenger District 56 encompasses all 11 leagues in our district and 7 cities-which include Brea, Whittier, La Habra, Placentia, Fullerton, Hacienda Heights and Yorba Linda.
